Presentation of the conference The TAD Conference (Transition Analytics for Decarbonization) is an international event dedicated to addressing analytical challenges that support the energy transition and sustainable development. Following the success of the first edition held in Paris in October 2025, we are delighted to announce the second edition, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, from March 10 to 12, 2027. This new edition marks an important milestone in the expansion of the TAD initiative, extending its reach to the Asian scientific community and fostering stronger international collaboration on the analytical solutions needed to drive decarbonization. This second edition will further strengthen interactions between academia and industry and, through high-level scientific contributions, will cover the following key thematic areas:
The conference will take place over three days, beginning with a welcome reception and networking dinner. The scientific program will consist of four half-day thematic sessions covering key analytical challenges related to the energy transition. Each session will feature four keynote lectures (30 min) delivered by leading academic and industrial experts, as well as eight flash poster presentations highlighting emerging research and innovative applications. Poster presentations will be displayed throughout the conference and showcased during breaks, lunches, and social events, providing numerous opportunities for discussion and interaction among participants. In addition, dedicated networking activities will foster exchanges between researchers, industry representatives, instrument manufacturers, and solution providers. Analytical instrument manufacturers and technology providers will also have the opportunity to present their latest developments and innovations through poster communications, dedicated presentations, exhibition areas, and sponsorship opportunities, further strengthening the links between scientific research and industrial applications. A virtual attendance option will also be available, enabling participants who cannot travel to follow the scientific program remotely. The conference will be organized by the HydroCarbonOmics Section of the Japan Institute of Energy, together with the joint laboratories iC2MC (“International Complex Matrices Molecular Characterization”), CROME (“Operando Research Center for Materials & Energy”) and PICTE (“Physical-chemistry for Transitioning Energy”).
